One of our therapists has written an easy to read short paragraph on the benefit of psychotherapy in working through the pain following the loss of a loved one.
It could be a useful point of departure in directing someone towards help when the more usual routes of family ties and circles of friends are not enough, or are themselves overwhelmed by the loss.
I find it to be a deceptively ‘simple’ text which nicely makes plain the link between the onerous work of mourning and the wish to keep the loved one alive in memory.
